Artist and Still Life
This was fun. Somewhat inspired by Braque and Picasso, this artwork was made by cutting two finished canvases into two inch strips. These strips were organized by the artist and then affixed to a prepared canvas (painted in grey) with flexible molding paste. The canvas was then varnished. The viewer should feel a delayed realization that the artist and the still life are inhabiting the same pictorial plane.
