Unplugging?
This beach scene I often see repeated in versions; beautiful day, sea gulls, ocean, waves and someone either taking a selfie or texting on their phone. A trip to the beach used to be a time to relax, splash around in the water, stroll the beach, read a book. I found it ironic that unless a video or selfie was made and shared, the visit never happened. The title "Unplugging?" is a satire on what the viewer of the painting is seeing. I wonder what Claude Monet would make of this if he was alive today.
